Fantasy Premier League - Full Player Ratings

The player ratings for GW1 through GW8 have been updated and are available here. As a reminder they are entirely determined using player's underlying statistics - most notably shots and chances created taking into account the position and type of shot/pass.

Last week we added a new column to the table - aP90, or attacking points per 90 minutes. From the feedback we've had this is the stat that most people are looking at, and with players missing a few games helps to normalise the ratings.

Prior to GW8 the excellent TotalFPL published this community article looking at the top rated forwards by aP90. Definitely worth a read.

We've put together a "Best Team" based on the aP90 ratings. With statistics in football small sample sizes are always an issue so we've set a limit that players must have played at least 3 games (270 minutes) and be regular starters for their team / not be injured.

Top rated team based on aP90

Notable exceptions: Eto'o is ranked 2nd behind Suarez but has not played enough minutes. Dzeko would be ahead of Aguero but is an uncertain starter. Lescott would be in the team too but is not certain to play. Theo Walcott remains the top midfielder but is out injured for at least 2 more weeks.

Remember that the defence are picked on attacking potential only. Howard's 1 key pass gets him in this team.

Yohan Cabaye is the most surprising player to make this team, just pipping Ozil and ahead of Ramsey and Michu. He does have 2 goals and an assist from his last 4 games. His stats show a healthy mix of shots and creativity. 17 of his 22 shots have however come from outside the box and this is not usually a recipe for a lot of goals. He does have penalties and set pieces though and owned by under 3% of FPL managers he'd make a decent differential when the time is right. Newcastle have a mixed but slowly improving set of fixtures and If he can maintain this form through to GW12 NOR(H) he'll definitely come onto the radar.
