As announced yesterday we have set up a multi-player game this weekend with a guaranteed pot of £150. You can also enter other multi-player games or challenge your friends one-to-one.
There are two key ways to spot opportunity within the PlayON game; understanding it's scoring system and understanding how player prices are decided.
Understanding the Scoring System
Defenders get points for clean sheets, clearances, tackles and interceptions, and lose points for goals conceded . Everyone gets points for shots on target plus the usual from goals, assists. All players get points per minute played.
You can check out the precise point scoring on the playon.co.uk site but in summary the players with the highest points totals are those that play a key role for their teams. They'll play the full 90 minutes and either contribute to a clean sheet through defensive actions or play a major role in attacking rewards.
Top Players Last Season: Vertonghen, Van Persie, Bale, Suarez, Williams, Reid, Gerrard, Huth, Benteke, Distin
Understanding Player Prices
Players prices are updated each week based on the player's recent stats. At this early stage in this season recent stats are still from last season and won't reflect changes in team style or role in the team. Also if a player has missed a few games recently his stats won't be all that great and his price will be lower than you'd expect

If you want to take some punts too, looking for a unexpected defensive performance looks like a smart way of getting an edge over the competition. This weekend Fulham and Swansea could both provide an unexpected clean sheet (500pts) and if they do you'll score big points from all the hard work their defenders have had to do (e,g. Williams, Hangeland).
Above is our current team for the weekend. We've still a chunk of cash to spend but you can see how easily value can be found. We'll certainly play about with this team before the deadline tomorrow and as we'll be wanting to win the £150 prize pot ourselves, we can't share all our secrets.
